His books are still widely used as textbooks in Islamic universities in South Asia.About the Translator: Maulana Fazlur Rahman Mubarakpuri (1909-1979 CE) was born in Mubarakpur, Azamgarh District and studied at the famous Nadwatul Ulama seminary at Lucknow. He later taught there and at several other institutions. He also served as Head of the Department of Hadith at Darul Uloom Nadwatul Ulama for a long time. He authored a number of books in Arabic, Persian and Urdu, including translations from Arabic to Urdu. A brief life sketch has been included in the translation by Maulana Abdul Haq Ansari.The book consists of original text with English translation on facing pages.

In this chapter Shah Waliullah explains the steps involved in Salat together with rulings pertaining to it from both Quran and Hadith. 2) Zakat-e-Ejaz: The rules for payment of zakat are presented in this chapter with separate chapters dealing with its calculation, distribution and spending.3) Waqf-e-Ejaz: Rules for making, investing and distributing waqf are given in this chapter.4) Taharah: Taharah is the ritual cleansing of the body before prayer. This chapter deals with different aspects of cleansing, including bathing, washing the face and hands, washing the private parts etc. Exclusion of some things from tahara is also given here along with information on purity of food materials. Some rules are also given regarding taharah for women prior to prayer.
